Mother's Day Gift Guide

Open Today

09:00 - 20:00

She’ll tell you she doesn’t want anything for Mother’s Day, but what she really wants to spend it with you. So how do you show her how much she means to you in the most thoughtful way possible? Follow our top tips and you’ll get some major mum points.

  1. Breakfast in bed – we know it’s tried and tested, but we bet there’s not a single mum out there who wouldn’t love to wake up to a breakfast tray complete with a little vase of flowers and a cuppa. If there are little ones in your house, bonus mum points for having them ‘help’ with this task, it’s sure to raise a smile.

  1. Don’t let her near the kitchen – if she normally spends her days keeping the family fed and watered, then make sure she has a day off from cooking. If she’s passed down her skills to you then great, rustle up a delicious lunch and dinner for all the family. And don’t whatever you do let her do the washing up! If cooking is not your forte, then treat her to lunch at Costa Coffee.

  1. Housework – if you see her get the vacuum cleaner or a can of furniture polish out, offer to take over and don’t take no for an answer! She might protest but secretly she’ll be delighted not to do it for a change. Pick up everythign you need for a whizz clean from Home Bargains.

  1. Shower her with compliments - Think she’s the best mum in the whole world? Tell her why! Shower her with compliments about all that she does for you, so she knows you don’t take it for granted.

  1. Time – What she likes, more than anything, is to spend time with you. So cancel your usual plans that day, and spend the whole day together. You don’t have to do anything fancy (although a spa day would be nice!), it’s just that she’s with you. If you fancy popping out, there’s nothing quite like sitting and sharing a coffee together.

  1. Gift & Card – If you’ve done all the kind and thoughtful gestures and want to get her a little something too, then why not a bottle of her favourite fragrance from Boots. If she’s not a fan of perfume then you can’t go wrong with some sweet treats from Greggs. And whatever you do, don’t forget a card, there’s a great range in Next.

  1. Give her a huge hug – The best things in life really are free!

  • Give her a shout out - Want the world to know just how great she is? Head over to our Facebook page and let us know why she's the best, and we might just let her know!
